A FOOTY TAIL WITH ALEX JOHNSTON
Today’s guest is a professional rugby league footballer who plays as a winger and fullback for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NRL. He has played for both Australia and Papua New Guinea at international level.
He’s popped in today to share a brand-new picture book inspired by the South Sydney Rabbitohs all about unity, togetherness, resilience and teamwork. All the qualities he knows so much about.
He’ll also share his writing process and inspiration for the book with us, so everybody please welcome the legend that is, Alex Johnston.

About the illustrator:
Gregg Dreise is a gifted artist, storyteller and musician, and he features the didgeridoo and guitar in his performances at schools, libraries and festivals. He is a descendant of the Kamilaroi and Euahlayi people of south-west Queensland and north-west New South Wales. He is the author and illustrator of Cunning Crow; Silly Birds; Kookoo Kookaburra; Mad Magpie and My Culture and Me.
All these stories are about teaching morals. They address self-image, friendship, kindness, bullying and Indigenous culture.
