Adrian Beck and James Hart Interview

Today’s guests are the creators of an amazing Easter themed picture book, out just in time for Easter titled, The Unfunny Bunny.

To tell us all about it, offer up a few tips and their process on writing, illustrating and collaborating, it’s the amazing and dynamic duo of Adrian Beck and James Hart. Woo-hooo! 

James Hart:

From The Day My Butt Went Psycho! for television to the You Choose series by George Ivanoff, James has continued to focus on his passion for illustrating, and even writing books for children. His award-winning illustrations can now be found on successful book series such as Mr Bambuckle’s Remarkables, The Mysterious World of Cosentino, You Choose, Fartboy, Super Geeks, Skydragon and more.

You Choose and Mr Bambuckles Remarkables went on to win YABBA and KOALA awards and continue to be shortlisted each year.

Adrian Beck:

Adrian writes, funny, action-packed stories for kids. He is the author of the Derek Dool series, the Champion Charlies series, plus Alien Zoo 1 and 2 and he is the co-author of the Little Legends series with Nicole Hayes plus the Kick it to Nick series with AFL hall-of-famer Shane Crawford. 

As well as being an author, Adrian is a TV producer and a lover of very bad ‘dad jokes’. Adrian was born in Hobart, Tasmania. He is passionate about raising childhood literacy levels across the country and is a fierce supporter of the endangered teacher-librarian species.

Adrian’s Ooey Gooey Super Chewy Easter Taco for Two

INGREDIENTS:

Soft Taco x 2, Easter eggs x 2, Crème egg x 2, Whipped cream, Cherries x 2, Slithered almonds x handful, Mini Marshmallows x handful.

METHOD:

Layout soft tacos, melt easter eggs and poor over tacos. Smash and add crème egg.

Add almonds and marshmallows and wrap tacos. Place into toasted sandwich maker until hot chocolate melts all ooey and gooey, and marshmallows are chewy.

Place on plate, add whipped cream and cherries.

Bite in. Close your eyes, hold onto your ears, and wait for head to explode. Way cool!
