For kids who love dragons who love tacos.
What a winning combination – dragons and tacos.
If you like your picture books spicy, you’ll get a kick out of this New York Times best-selling phenomenon.
You see, Dragons really love tacos (and who can blame them?). They love big tacos and small tacos. They love chicken tacos and beef tacos. There’s only one rule when it comes to offering one of your delicious tacos to a dragon. Make sure it’s mild!
Ever wonder where dragons get their fire from?
It makes sense when you think about it – from eating spicy tacos! And, you don’t want to be around a dragon after eating one of these bad-boys. Whoa!
What ever you do, don’t give dragons’ spicy tacos. Just stick to basics: a mild salsa with tomato, lettuce and cheese and you’ll be just fine.
A Fiery Party
The story begins with the narrator talking to the boy in the book, which invites the reader into the pages and into the action, which heats up when the boy decides to host a taco party for a crowd of dragons. Unfortunately, the boy doesn’t read the fine print on the salsa bottle which states that the salsa contains hot chillies!
The boy tries to stop the dragons from eating, but there’s no stopping hungry dragons at a taco party! And, the result is a fiery one!
If you love dragons, you’ll love the illustrations in this book. There’s dragons in all shapes and sizes and various colours. And, all of them hungry for tacos. It’s a fun story with a good helping of silly, and a big winner for me is the way the author engages the reader, it’s no wonder this book has been so popular with kids of all ages.
