Tomorrow is a brand-new day by Davina Bell and Allison Colpoys

Tomorrow is a brand-new day book review

I know your world is feeling grey,

but it won’t always be this way.

And everyone alive can say

they’ve felt the way you do today.

Self-compassion and the power of love

Hard days come and go, but love is always with us. Two children are having a hard time of it. They’ve done the wrong thing or said the wrong thing and made some big mistakes. And, now they’re worried, embarrassed, fearful and lost.

You are more than your mistakes

Gees I hope so, ‘cause I’ve made some doozys!! And, that is what this beautiful rhyming text does so well, it assures the reader that everyone makes mistakes. It’s all a part of learning and growing. We all do things in our lives that embarrass us or leave us feeling down. But life won’t always be this way. You are loved, and there will be brighter times ahead. You are not alone, even though it might feel that way right now. Everybody feels this way at times, you are loved, and you belong!

A message of hope

This is such a beautifully written and illustrated story of hope, owning your mistakes, growing and learning. Perfect for our time, and not just for kids, this is a book with a message for every single one of us.

What I really love about this book is the clever collaboration between author and illustrator. The illustrations off set the heavy topic of emotions with joyful illustrations and vibrant colour.

We all need the reassurance, wisdom and warmth shared in the pages of this stunning picture book.
