Supporting aspiring writers write the books kids want to read and publishers want to publish
Turning books into awesome video games
Turning Books into Awesome Video Games – an interview with Bec Timmis.
Today’s guest is both an author and an illustrator. When she was at school her favourite subjects were art and writing.
In her spare time, she was always reading, writing, watching tv and playing video games. Little did she know, all these things were teaching her about story-building and character development.
When she left school, she studied animation at university and enrolled in a children’s writing course, where she wrote her first award-winning short story.
There was no stopping her, she went on to both illustrate picture books and even write and draw her own series of books that we all know and love on the Taco’s podcasts called Mertales.
Everybody please welcome, all the way from Cockleshell Cove, the fantastic, murmazing, Rebecca Timmis.
Each episode aims to inspire little people to use their big imaginations to read, write, draw and create!
After putting up over 100 episodes of Taco podcasts for authors, it’s great to do something for the kids. We’re very excited about this as it’s so much fun. Tailored to primary schools, it’s ideal for educators, teacher/librarians, kids who want more from books, and all who love children’s literature.
